3 Steps How To Change The Job You Hate

It was a Sunday afternoon, walking in St. James’s Park and enjoying the rare sunny day in London. I look at my watch to check the time and suddenly a though flew over my mind which turned my wonderful mood into shady. I started to feel again the well-known cramp around my stomach and my heart on the go to beat faster… The weekend is almost over and tomorrow is Monday!
Is this sounds familiar to you as well?
Are you one of those Londoners who are checking the time on your phone relentlessly and waiting for the end of the working day, and to get out from there as soon as possible? Do you used to sleepwalk through your day putting the minimum energy into your work and imitating you actually care about it? Do you feel yourself miserable hunting the bank Holidays in the calendar, constantly planning some kind of vacation and dreaming of an escape plan?
My experience is that, there are way too many people who don't love their job at all! Many like it, some tolerate it for a while, but the majority is not happy with the work they do for living. While some unhappy employees muster up the courage to change careers, others opt to grin and bear it.What I found is that most people used to think they are stuck there and feel themselves like in a prison. They used to believe that can’t change their job because they rely on it so much and desperately need money to keep the life going.
Why many of us stay in the wrong career path long after we realised that actually we don't like it at all? Why we choose to waste our time to do something we hate? The reasons could be hundreds and one but now let me show you the 3 most common one:
People are terrified to change. I found this as No: 1 reason! They are afraid to fail and will lose the life what they built with so many years of hard work. Another reason is most of us are just simply not willing to admit to themselves the truth; I made a mistake! A big group of people believe that they spent so much time, money and effort to get the degree and don't want to waste it. Many young people in their early age had no idea what they wanted to do with their lives and they had a very narrow point of view about what career options were available to them. They picked their career right after from Uni or College and they never switched.
You Must Stop doing that work which you hate, as soon as possible! There is No Reason you do something for living which you hate! I listen way too many times the following excuses“… you know, I'm doing this job for a while…” — or — “… I can’t do what I like because I need to pay my bills…” — or — “…I'm just surviving here…”
Have you ever thought about what is the price if you carry on doing this? What you will lose because you stick to do something you hate?
I have a few weighty arguments why:
» You are generally wasting your life! You are losing your valuable time and taking an opportunity from yourself. Every day the time you spend with your disliked job is taken from the place where you love to work. The industry where you feel you should be and this is where you belong to.
» Constantly generating experience in an industry what you don’t like. You are on the way tobecome an expert in a wrong profession.
» You don't have daily success because you dislike what you do and this is directly affecting your self-confidence and self-image.
» You hardly can achieve your highest potential.
» You are spending time with people with who you don't even want to talk.
Here is what you can do now to change the game forever:

Step #1: Change your perspective!

You need to start designing new concepts about what work, job, andcareer you like to do. Everything will start with the point, where you change your ideas about your possibilities. Changing your perception from:
“What I can do for living?” — Into — “Which is the right profession for me what I am passionate about so much and where I Can Be The Best?!”
Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself: What do I want to do every day for the rest of my life? Find that and Do that! What do you love so much that you'd gladly do all week and happily skip the weekend to keep doing it? If it’s easier for you, start collecting the things, tasks, jobs what you hate to do -> sometimes this step along will move you more closely to the point.
Focus on to find the right profession for yourself in the right industry, instead of paying attention only about how profitable could be that certain career. Believe me: doesn't really matter what kind of career you are passionate about! I promise, you can monetize that!! Don’t allow to yourself that luxury of listening to your head instead of your heart. In a long time run you are going to lose.
Although, after a few years helping people find their career and dealing with their battle during the career change process, I need to say: “No, I'm not idealist! I know it’s not going to be easy!” Every single work it doesn’t matter what kind of industry you are in, or what profession you are doing, has certain elements which could be unpleasant for you! Even the most successful entrepreneurs, CEO’s, visionaries have certain days or periods during the time when they don't like what they do at all!
But at the same time what I DO BELIEVE IS everyone has a type of work, profession which is the most suitable for their abilities. Every single person borne with a talent and certain skill set. Furthermore, if they create a working environment where they put vision, effort and constant work theycan be the best in the industry!

Step #2. Finding Your core Skills and powerful Abilities!

So, the right target is rather than finding a job you love — changing your perspective into — knowing enough yourself to pick a profession which is a most suitable for your talent, your skills, your abilities and interest and using this strengths on a right industry — or field — to become a well-known and widely appreciated person word wide. What I have realised during my career advice is what people are really looking for is not an easy work, or stress-free money or fast tracks.
What most of them really want is a place, where what they do matter!
A job which gives constant challenges for them and in reward they will get a different type of appreciation…. Although, this steps require self-knowledge and experience, with the lack of those things you will find yourself easily disappointed and become one of those people, rather than “grab the heaviest way of the job “ start looking for an fast money, how can I become rich yesterday and more of these slangs….
Dive into it and evaluate your experiences from the past. Ask yourself those questions:
Where were you good at in the past? Evaluate separately in your career life and personal life as well. List out what kind of achievements you did in your life what you are proud of. How did you accomplish those results?
Which were the key abilities I used there to get those results?
Which are the 3 main areas you are interested most for a long time? What do you really interest you? What do you really want to do? What is your hobby?
If you know nothing about your abilities ask 15 people around you and evaluate the result. You will be surprised about the result!

Step #3: Create a Strategy and Start Taking Action!

Build a strategy and a few steps action plan, how you are going navigate yourself from the stage where you are right now to where you want to be! Every single person has a specific career situation and from this perspective you are required to create a different strategy as well.
Including but not limited here is a few questions / steps where you can start:
» Be clear about what kind of steps divide you from that stage you working in and certain new industry.
» Create your “job quitting” plan! Make a plan how you going to quit your job.
» Do research: Do you need any further education to work in the new industry or you can do temporary without?
» Start digging on the internet and know everything about the business where you are going to in! Who’s the 5 company who dominate on the market? What is the company vision? What kind of clients they serving for?
» Who do I know? Who can help you to get into that industry? Do you know anyone who is inside right now and can give me a bigger picture about that? How did they do that? How they get the position?
» Learn the inside language of the industry.
Stop wasting your Valuable Time! Make your decision! Be relentless and do take action consistently until you get there! Do the Hassle because it’s worth it!
